Description

“HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS”

Inaugural program launched by Social Impact and Innovation, UC San Diego to raise awareness of Human Trafficking through a theater performance by kNOw MORE!

We have invited the kNOw MORE! program to perform an excerpt of the drama from the kNOw MORE! human trafficking awareness and prevention curriculum for youth. This performance uses dialogue, abstract dramatized images, and spoken word, to incite curiosity and prompt a learning journey toward understanding the red flags and vulnerabilities of human trafficking. Following the promotional performance, the actor/teachers facilitate a conversation with the audience to engage them further in reflecting on what they saw and heard in the performance. The audience is then invited to ask questions and share other comments about human trafficking in San Diego County. The program will close with a heartfelt performance by Buki Domingos, famous singer and survivor.

UC San Diego Partners: Social Impact and Innovation, International House, Eleanor Roosevelt College, and Qualcomm Institute.
